#1. I love2shop – but only when I have vouchers

It’s 10am and it’s not been the greatest start to the day.
The Kids have fallen victim to THE GREAT STOMACH BUG of Britain 2023! The sun is out, and I’m stuck indoors, pondering how I’m going to walk the dogs, wade through the bug related household chores, shop for food and do justice to my actual lovely day job with two sick-notes at home. The Daddy is working away for the week, and I can see my week getting longer and longer by the minute (until Friday when he returns home to rescue me with a bottle of something cold of course). I keep glancing at the biscuit barrel. I’m trying so hard to stop my comfort-eating habit from kicking in, but its proving tricky. The kids are groaning and moaning and making all sorts of unsavoury noises. I decide to risk it (without a biscuit), and settle down to work at a safe (but obviously very sympathetic) distance.
After 10 minutes my phone goes. Beeeeeepbeepbeepbeeeeep (I really need to change that tone). I check the mail that has just come through and nearly fall off my chair.
There… in my inbox.. I see the glorious subject title
“Love2Reward“.

“GREAT NEWS! Your reward is here.
Compensation issued on behalf of Amey
due to a recent missed appointment.
KIND REGARDS PINNACLE”
“YAY!”
I give a little excited shriek, waking a sleeping child from its sick nest on the sofa;
“Mummmmyyyyyyyyy!” It groans.
My moment of peace is shattered. I’m back to playing nursemaid again – but this time with a “what can I spend it on?” kind of smile on my face. My life is whole again.
I love to shop when I have vouchers!!
Did you know..?
You can claim compensation on the pinnacle service families website. (See link below). Compensation, once approved, will be paid in the form of Love2Shop vouchers at £30 per missed appointment.
The problem
Love2Shop vouchers are a fantastic little reward given to us for enduring the regular wasted hours at home clock watching instead of, well…living life; and just like the housing repair engineers, they are not fast at coming, at all. The voucher I’ve just received, is for a missed appointment in September when I was without a cooker for 7 weeks. Upon doing some research, it seems you can expect to wait for as long as 3 – 6 months for your claim to be processed, so don’t give up hope yet. It’s probably on its way?
Make sure you check your Spam
I’ve made so many claims this last year, its easy to lose track. If it wasn’t for the advice of a wise and learned friend (thank you A.R.D), I’d be several vouchers short of a shopping trip right now. So take her advice and “Check your Spam“. Vouchers could even now have winged their way to you and be hiding in your junk emails like Where’s Wally at a spam-fest.
